The images embroidered on the pillow  - borrowed from "Cinderella" - tell the story of a Brazilian woman who married a drug dealer. Shortly after the wedding he was mudered by rival drug dealers who then mudered her two weeks later.

The images embroidered on these briefs are based on a story reported in Brazilian newspapers in 1997. Over the course of several years, a serial killer lured 15 boys aged five to twelve years of age to his house with promises of food and gifts. Each boy was raped and murdered and, in a particularily gruesome act, the killer drank their blood. The narrative takes the form of Grimms "Hansel and Gretel."

This dress lining belonged to the artist's mother.  Embroidered on it are scenes from her life and that of her son who was shot and killed while stopped at a traffic light in Rio de Janeiro.

This baby blanket belonged to the artist's brother and the images embroidered on it depict his mother holding him as a baby and at the time of his death.

watching over her; below it is she that watches over her brother's body.

The images embroidered on this small child's pillow uses the tale of "Little Red Riding Hood" to illustrate an incident that took place in Brazil in 1996. Two girls were kidnapped, raped and left to starve to death in a house outside of Rio de Janiero.  Their bodies were discovered buried in the back yard one year later.
