Diane Edison: Portraits and Self-Portraits

Jan 6 - Feb 15, 1997

Also starting January 6th will be an exhibition of small paintings on panel by Diane Edison. The works in the exhibition, the largest of which measure 15x10 inches, are all portraits of the artist's friends, including artist Lesley Dill and filmmaker Ed Robbins, as well as several self-portraits. While Edison's previous works emphasized the figure in a setting, these works are all close-ups painted at life-scale.

Diane Edison has been in several group shows at the gallery since 1991, including "Large-Scale Drawing" and "Around the House." Portraits and Self-Portraits, which runs through mid-February, will be her first one-person show in New York.
