Congratulations to Enrique Chagoya, who has recently been elected to the National Academy of Design. Chagoya is joining a storied community of over 2,350 artists and architects which extends back nearly two centuries. This year’s class includes artists Derrick Adams, Cecily Brown, Mitch Epstein, Rafael Ferrer, Beverly Fishman, Charles Gaines, Carmen Herrera, Jennifer Packer, Walid Raad, Betye Saar, Beverly Semmes, as well as architects Michael Maltzan, Toshiko Mori and Claire Weisz. 

The induction ceremony took place virtually on Wednesday, October 28th at 6pm EST. Remarks were given by President Wendy Evans Joseph and Executive Director Gregory Wessner, with Michelle Grabner and Sangram Majumdar presiding as the Masters of Ceremonies.
