Press Release

Starting September 11, the George Adams Gallery will have on view a show of new paintings by Andrew Lenaghan in the main exhibition space and an overview of porcelain sculptures from 1968 through 1998 by Richard Shaw in the small gallery.

The exhibition of sculptures by Richard Shaw ranges from his early earthenwear pieces such as Bee Jar of 1969, examples of his first works in porcelain such as the trompe l'oeil Rock Jar of 1972, as well as several examples from his Palette, and Ship series of the 1980s and mid-1990s. The exhibition concludes with his most recent work, figures and small bowls, completed this summer while on a fellowship to Shigaraki in Japan.
