New Works...and Old
Sep 10 - Oct 16, 1993
The Frumkin/Adams Gallery will open its 1993-94 season on September 10th with a one-man exhibition of works by Peter Saul. The exhibition, a mini retrospective that will fill both the Main and Drawing galleries, will feature recent works from Saul's new "Pop Art" series, as well as a "portrait" of Jeffrey Darmer in the electric chair and a painting titled Business Man. These paintings will be augmented by several paintings and drawings from the last thirty years, highlighting the thematic consistency of Saul's works, most notably the Electric Chair paintings of the 1960s (Sex Deviate Being Executed, 1964) and the "soft" paintings of the 1970s (Donald Duck on a Toilet Descending a Soft Watch, 1978). The Peter Saul exhibition will open with a reception for the artist on Friday, September 10th and continue through October 16th.
