Luis Cruz Azaceta
New Orleans Paintings
Nov 19 - Dec 31, 1993
An exhibition of new paintings by Luis Cruz Azaceta will be on view at the Frumkin/Adams Gallery from November 19th through December. The exhibition features works made since the artist's move to New Orleans last year, a move reflected in both the palette and subject of these paintings.
The exhibition will include brilliantly colored paintings dealing with themes of exile, the plight of the Cuban Balseros, and paintings that come directly from the docks near the artist's new studio. The exhibition runs concurrently with a survey of Azaceta's Career at the New Orleans Center for Contemporary Art. In addition Azaceta is participating in this year's Corcoran Biennial which opened last week in Washington.
The Azaceta exhibition will run from Friday, November 19th through December. There will be a reception for the artist on Saturday, November 20th from 5-8 pm.
