Artists for Mumia 911

From September 9 through the 25th the George Adams Gallery will present MUMIA 911: ARTISTS RESPOND.  This benefit exhibition, which is part of a coordinated nation-wide series of events, National Day of Art to Stop the Execution of Mumia Abu-Jamal, calls attention to the plight of Mumia Abu-Jamal, the award-winning journalist who has been on death row in Philadelphia since 1982.


Artists participating in the exhibition at the George Adams Gallery include: Ida Appelbroog, Luis Cruz Azaceta, Robert Arneson, Renee Cox, Lesley Dill, Leon Golub, and Kiki Smith.


Other participating galleries include: PPOW, White Columns, Gallery 1199, Art in General and the Bronx River Arts Center.
